WELCOME:
We thank you for taking the time to visit our site, an initiative aiming to reach out in new ways to people who are seeking to connect with a faith community. As congregations within The United Church of Canada, we celebrate and hope to build upon our history and tradition of ministry within our local communities. By anticipating and responding to emerging challenges and opportunities of a changing world, we seek to bear faithful witness to the good news of the Gospel in such a way that is relevant and inspiring to the people we serve in Christ’s name. Hoping you might join us in our journey, we invite you to consider our United Church creed as a contemporary profession of Christian faith: We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.
THANK YOU FOR VISITING:
The church is currently building this website for the Binbrook and Blackheath communities. We will endeavour to provide as much information as possible for your convenience. If you would like to see information included for future publication please contact the church secretary or Rev. Rick(email links are supplied on the contact page).
WHERE ARE WE LOCATED:
The communities of Binbrook and Blackheath are located in the township of Glanbrook that in recent years has been amalgamated with the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Hamilton is located at the western end of Lake Ontario, midway between Toronto and Niagara Falls. Binbrook and Blackheath are historic farming communities that were settled in the early 1800's by many hard working families that are still a part of our community and our congregations. In recent years as the city of Hamilton expands many new residential communities are beginning to introduce young families to the wonderful world of country living.

BINBROOK UNITED BLACKHEATH UNITED
THE UNITED CHURCH CREST - What does it mean:
The church crest of The United Church of Canada contains traditional Christian symbols as well as several elements from the partners of our union in 1935. The Greek letters alpha and omega at the bottom of the crest are the first and last letters of the alphabet and represent the eternal living God. The crest is divided by a large X, the Greek initial for the work of Christ. The oval shape of the Crest reminds us of the outline of a fish, another symbol used by early Christians to identify themselves. The tree symbols - the dove, the bible, and the burning bush - come from the first three traditions of the union in 1925. The dove stands for Methodism in Canada and Bermuda: an emblem of the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. The open Bible represents the Congregational Church's emphasis on God's truth. The burning bush that is not consumed denotes the sovereignty of God from the Presbyterian heritage. In 1968, the Canada Conference of the Evangelical United Brethren Church became part of the United Church of Canada. Ut omnes unim sint ... That all may be one. The words on the border are joined by maple leaves and the name of the church is written in our two official languages. The church crest: symbols of many traditions, the signature of a united and uniting church.
We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God
